Pabst Mansion – Academic Coursework

Project Type

Public Relations Campaign

Date

Spring Semester 2024

Location

Marquette University

In my PR writing course, I was tasked with developing a public relations campaign for a hypothetical client, the Pabst Mansion, focusing on their "Ikebana at the Pabst" event. This assignment challenged me to create a range of professional-quality PR materials, including news releases, brochures, video scripts, social media content, and media kits, demonstrating proficiency in various writing formats and the ability to develop cohesive messaging aligned with the client's brand and event objectives.
To address these challenges, I conducted thorough research on the Pabst Mansion and the event to inform the development of key PR materials. This included crafting a feature news release, informational brochures, video scripts, sample social media content, and comprehensive media kits, all tailored to their respective formats and adhering to professional PR writing standards while maintaining consistent messaging and branding throughout the campaign.
As a result of these actions, I successfully produced seven deliverables that showcased a wide range of public relations skills and writing abilities. I demonstrated proficiency in writing news releases (as shown in the sample feature news release), designing brochures, creating audiovisual content, and curating social media content, ultimately gaining practical experience in planning and executing a multi-faceted PR campaign and strengthening my understanding of PR principles.
